There is not much known about Jesus as what he did and said as compared to prophet muhammad (saw). The life of prophet muhammad (saw) is available in great details and his life was an open book.

Great video! However i expected it to also show how this argument entails that the cause is personal. So i have typed it here The cause must be necessary but must it be personal or impersonal? Impersonal necessary entities (abstract objects) cannot cause anything due to their property of casual inertness (abstract objects don't have casual power). They do not cause events, actions, or changes in the physical world (ex- numbers don't cause anything) therefore they are ruled out. The only way for a necessary entity to have casual power is it being personal as a personal agent has the capacity for intentional action, meaning it initiate a chain of event. Even if abstract objects could cause something (which we have seen earlier is impossible) it would go against the temporal existence of universe since timeless impersonal cause can't initiate a temporal event. Impersonal cause would create the universe out of necessity (since an impersonal cause would operate according to deterministic laws or conditions) so if the cause ought to be there permanently the effect ought to be there permanently and thus universe and the cause would have been co-eternal. But the universe began to exist. The only way for a timeless cause to create a temporal effect is if the cause is personal as a personal agent with free will can initiate a chain of events without antecedent predetermining conditions unlike impersonal cause. Thus the cause must be personal.

Stop asking the religious to comment on science. WLC has NO training, qualifications or experience in the subject. It takes a theoretical physicist to explain why the fine-tuning argument is rubbish. Read Victor J Stenger's book "The Fallacy of Fine-Tuning" to see what I mean (which btw calls out by name WLC's lies and ignorance on this topic.)

There's an irony in all this: On the one hand, today we have the very best scholarship in history in fields like biblical studies, philosophy of religion and theology, the plethora of scientific subjects, and so on and so forth, and the sum of the facts and evidence quite arguably make belief in Christianity more reasonable than ever. On the other hand, we live in an age where the majority of people in the West are superficially very knowledgeable about all sorts of topics (doubtless partly thanks to having tools like Google and ChatGPT at one's fingertips and living in the information age in general), but deeply and profoundly ignorant about what in the relatively recent past used to be learned fundamentals like basic logic and reasoning and critical thinking skills, which are necessary to evaluate good and bad arguments, for example, to say nothing of being part of an educated citizenry, which in turn is necessary to ensure or safeguard our civic liberties. Not to mention most are at best superficially knowledgeable about elementary mathematics, the various sciences, literature, music, arts. Let alone higher end fields like biblical studies or philosophy or the sciences. And so most Westerners exemplify by their lives what T.S. Eliot wrote a generation or two ago: Where is the life we have lost in living? Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?

Exactly. I will translate for you Knowledge, intelligence & education is not the same as wisdom, discernment, logic, morality.... Knowledge & education are not the goal. Those are tools to use to get to the waypoint of wisdom & discernment. But you need to know the correct definition of right & wrong. There are some highly educated people today who are promoting & doing some really dumb & evil things. Knowledge can be used as a weapon for good or a weapon for evil. If someone with lots of knowledge has a wrong definition of what is good & what is evil, or has no definition at all, then there is a high probability of that person being manipulated into doing what is popular at the current time. And what is popular at the current time is no accident. For example, the Chinese people are becoming some of the most educated people on the planet. But they are using their knowledge to promote totalitarianism. They have no other option because the definition of right & wrong, good & evil that they have been given is a bit skewed in the wrong direction. Obviously, you can tell by my grammar that I am no WLC. But I do know the correct definition of right & wrong. That is the starting point for taking in information, processing it & determining what it can be used for, right or wrong. It takes time & mistakes & corrections to get there. There are instructions available that has the definition of right & wrong. It has examples of wisdom and examples of the opposite of wisdom. It has many examples of mistakes & corrections over time. The Bible has all of that in it. You better get started. It will take some time to process & gain wisdom. I'm just half-way there. I'm only 50 years old. 50 more to go! 😂😮😢😊 Uh, someone should probably translate this.

This is such a terrible argument. To claim that this god isn't contingent upon anything else, is odd, because you can't prove that it's not in a school for beings to learn how to create universes, and exists within that meta-universe, being contingent upon whatever created it. It'd still be the creator of "this" universe, but you know nothing of its actual "nature/life cycle". It could be one of billions of beings running their own universal sims-like programs, on fast forward. I've gone over this vid a couple times and still havent found why the universe is supposed to be contingent upon anything else, even if it begins to exist.

Open Theism is simply the view that choices are real. Because choices are real, the future is comprised of contingencies. The Bible is full of contingencies, and with God changing His mind. This does NOT mean that God gambles. God knows all things and can prepare for every contingency. And much of the future is indeed fixed, even on the Open Theist view. God's purposes will come about. Notice in the Bible, the reason given for the truth that God's future will come about is due to his wisdom and power in influencing events, not in the fact that he simply already knows. But again, in many cases, the future has been solidified, so He certainly does know. So many people straw man this view, or perhaps simply don't fully understand it. I am not 100% sold on it, but let's at least explain it correctly.

I’m speaking to everyone in the comments here when I say, some people just have a problem wrapping their heads around omnipotence, when in reality no one can because it’s outside our way of thinking. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭9‬

Not a good argument. The issue is our universe requires cause and effect, time and space. The Christian idea of God is that He is before our universe and before the requirements of the universe. He requires nothing for creation other than his will.

  • @kylejohnson8908

For this reason alone I would not be convinced. When I came to the conclusion that God created the world out of himself, it is because of the statement, "I am and there's nothing besides me." Yes, I understand the context of that statement, but it is none the less true. "If I go to the depths, you are there." Why is God everywhere? This too would give more meaning to the phrase "what you have done to the least of these you have done to me." Finally, as God for being described as a spirit... You know full well that if God takes even an infinite portion of himself to this labor, he still remains with an infinite. There would be no contradiction. You're then left with the problem, what did God make the universe out of? Is there something else apart from? Surely you will say that God is through. And if he is through it, can, influence it, control it, than the spiritual can affect the material, if it can affect material, then it can act like a material.

I believe hes right about God existing but wrong about his/its nature as far as intercession with mankind. Commanding the slaughter of the Canaanites for example. The Bible, being both written and compiled by man, is clearly fallible and that and similar stories in the Old Testament are very clearly ethnonationalistic celebratory tribalism from the perspective of the ancient Hebrews; ascribing their victory to the divine.
